University of Toronto
The Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Student Society (AIMSS) at the University of Toronto is a student-led group dedicated to introducing medical students to key concepts and applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning in medicine. Our mission is to prepare UofT medical students for the impact artificial intelligence is having and will continue to have on healthcare. Supported by the UofT Medical Society, our club has worked to hold educational sessions, speaker series, journal clubs, and competitions for medical students interested in AI.

My name is Aly, and I’m a second-year medical student at the University of Toronto. I’ve been fascinated by artificial intelligence and machine learning and their applications in medicine. I was an events lead for AIMSS in 2023-4, focusing on the applications of AI and ML in various medical specialties, from pathology to oncology. As a co-lead this year, I’m looking forward to connecting with with similar interests and helping medical students develop skills and awareness to incorporate AI into their future practice.

My name is Rebecca and I'm currently a second-year medical student at the University of Toronto! Here, I am one of the co-leads for the AIMSS chapter. Before medical school, I pursued a second bachelor's degree in computer science, where I discovered my passion for technology. This interest has continued to grow as I delve into the fascinating intersection of technology and medicine. I'm excited to share the incredible opportunities AIMSS offers with fellow UofT medical students and to help showcase the transformative potential of technology and AI in healthcare!
